ASTM D6547 Bimetallic Couple Test Specimen

Bimetallic couple test specimen used in ASTM D6547 (Corrosiveness of Lubricating Fluid to Bimetallic Couple). This test specimen is also known as a bimetallic galvanic couple. The bimetallic couple consists of a steel disk (UNS E52100) and brass clip (QQ-B-613). The steel disk measures 1" in diameter and is 1/2" to 1" thick and is ground on one side to 0.51µm rms. The brass clip fits lengthwise across the top of the steel disk.
Note that this bimetallic couple test specimen can also be used for testing by FTM 5322.
