49 CFR §571.116 S6.6 Corrosion Test Specimens

Test specimens used in testing brake fluid by 49 CFR §571.116 S6 (Corrosion). This test uses two sets of six test strips described in SAE J1703 Table 1. The test strips are made from steel, aluminum, cast iron, brass, copper, and zinc. These specimens are cleaned, polished, and bent at one end as shown. Customized test specimens for modified versions of this test are available on request.
