NACE TM0208 VIA-Ferrous Test Specimen

Steel test specimens used in NACE TM0208 (Vapor-Inhibiting Ability of Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor (VCI) Materials for Temporary Protection of Ferrous Metal Surfaces - VIA-Ferrous Test). These steel specimens are also referred to as "plugs." The specimens are made 1018 low carbon steel. Each specimen has a 5/8" (16 mm) OD, 1/2" (13 mm) length, and a 3/8" (10 mm) flat bottom hole drilled in the center at one end. The flat end without a hole is the test surface of the specimen. These test specimens are available with an as-rolled or with a light pre-polish surface finish.
