MIL-STD-3010 §5.4.1 (Method 4031) VIA Test Plugs

Steel test plugs used testing by MIL-STD-3010 §5.4.1 (Vapor Inhibiting Ability (VIA) of Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor (VCI) Materials - Test Method 4031). These low carbon steel plugs have a 5/8" diameter, 1/2" height, and a 3/8" ID flat bottom hole drilled in the center. The undrilled face of the plug (the test surface) is hand-polished with 240 grit AO. Further polishing and cleaning is done in the laboratory immediately before use. This test method uses four test plugs for each test. 
This specification supersedes FED-STD-101.
