MIL-PRF-16173 §4.6.8 Corrosion Test Specimens

Corrosion test specimens used in testing by military specification MIL-PRF-16173 §4.6.8. The test specimens are made from brass, zinc, magnesium, aluminum (2024-T3 bare and 2024-T3 clad), steel, and lead-calcium alloy. Each specimen is 1/4" x 7/8" x 2" (thickness may vary depending on material) and has a small hole drilled in one corner. This test method requires two sets of seven specimens (one of each alloy). The specimens are cleaned and polished on all faces and edges (240 grit).
