MIL-DTL-81706 Quality Control Test Panels
Aluminum test panels used in quality and conformance testing by MIL-DTL-81706 (Chemical Conversion Materials for Coating Aluminum & Aluminum Alloys). These test panels may be made from 2024-T3 bare aluminum (AMS 4037), 7075-T6 bare aluminum (AMS 4045), or 6061-T6 aluminum (AMS 4027). The panel dimensions may be 3" x 5" x 0.032" or 3" x 10" x 0.032", depending on the specific requirements of the test method.
Regular test panels are PVC-coated on both sides, cut to size, deburred, and packed in bundles. These panels may have some minor surface defects and will have mill oil on the surface, as these are the sheets in “as-received” condition from the aluminum mill.
