Separate test specimens used in quality testing by MIL-DTL-45204 (Electrodeposited Gold Plating). These separate test specimens are used in hardness testing when the plated parts are of a shape, size, or form that doesn't allow testing per the method outlined MIL-DTL-45204. Each test specimen is 1/2" x 1" x 0.040", and is made from the same base metal as the plated parts.
