CSA Z245.20 Epoxy Coating Paint Panels

Paint panels used to test plant-applied external fusion bond epoxy (FBE) coatings for steel pipe in accordance with CSA Z245.20. These hot rolled steel test panels are blasted to 2-3 mil (50-75 um) surface profile and cleaned to SSPC SP5 / Nace No. 1 (per CSA Z245.20 Section 6.1.2.2). 
 
CSA Z245.20 describes several different tests that use these blasted steel paint panels:
 
Section 12.8 Cathodic disbondment of the coating – 4" x 4" x 1/4" (100 mm x 100 mm x 6 mm)
Section 12.9 Interface contamination of the coating**
Section 12.10 Porosity of the coating – 1" x 8" x 1/4" (25 mm x 200 mm x 6 mm)

                        4" x 4" x 1/4" (100 mm x 100 mm x 6 mm) or 1" x 8" x 1/4" (25 mm x 200 mm x 6 mm)
Section 12.13 Cathodic disbondment of strained coating – ¼ thick (6.4 mm) x 200 mm x 55 mm outside dimensions, notched or without notch per Figure 11
Section 12.14 Adhesion of coating – 4" x 4" x 1/4" (100 mm x 100 mm x 6 mm)
