ASTM G66 Aluminum Test Specimens

Aluminum test specimens used in ASTM G66 (Visual Assessment of Exfoliation Corrosion Susceptibility of 5XXX Series Aluminum Alloys - ASSET Test). The standard specimen size is 1.5" x 4" x 1/4", with the metal working direction along the 1.5" length. The specimens have a hanging hole at one end for ease of handling. These specimens can be made from a variety of aluminum alloys, including 5052 and 5083 aluminum. Customized test specimens for modified versions of this test method are available on request.
