ASTM G28 Intergranular Corrosion Test Specimens

Metal test specimens used in testing by ASTM G28 (Detecting Susceptibility to Intergranular Corrosion in Wrought, Nickel-Rich, Chromium-Bearing Alloys). These specimens can vary in size depending on the exact material and test equipment being used. ASTM G28 recommends a specimen surface area of 5 to 20 cm². Each specimen is polished with 120 grit. The specimens may be made from the following alloys:
