ASTM F3440 Corrosion Test Specimens

Test specimens used in testing by ASTM F3440 (Corrosion of Low-Embrittling Zinc-Nickel Plate by Aircraft Maintenance Chemicals). Each specimen is 1" x 2" x 0.048" and is made from 4130 steel. The specimens are zinc-nickel plated in accordance with SAE AMS 2417. The test method calls for three replicates for each concentration of aircraft maintenance chemicals being tested. Metaspec provides these specimens with an as-rolled surface finish or with the zinc-nickel plated finish.
