ASTM F1113 Steel Test Specimen
Steel test specimens used in ASTM F1113 (Electrochemical Measurement of Diffusible Hydrogen in Steels - Barnacle Electrode). This test method uses specimens (also called panels or anodes) made from carbon or alloy steels (not stainless steel). The test specimens may be 1 to 6 mm thick (0.039" - 0.236"), and can be of various shapes and sizes. It's recommended that the test specimen be large enough to allow duplicate readings from the same specimen. Some standard test specimen sizes include 2" x 4" and 4" x 4", but other sizes or shapes are available on request.
