ASTM D950 Adhesive Impact Test Specimen

Wood and metal test specimens used in testing adhesives by ASTM D950 (Impact Strength of Adhesive Bonds). The test specimen material should be chosen based on the end-use application. For metal specimens, C360 brass, 110 copper, 2024 aluminum, 1020 steel, C544 phosphor bronze, AZ61 magnesium, or C770 nickel silver is recommended. The specimens are made in pairs of squares and rectangles which are bonded together with the test adhesive. The square specimen is 1" x 1" x 3/8". The rectangular specimen is 1" x 1-3/4" x 3/4". ASTM D950 requires ten test specimens for each tested adhesive.
