ASTM D897 Adhesive Test Specimen
Metal test specimens used in ASTM D897 (Tensile Properties of Adhesive Bonds). This test compares the tensile properties of metal to metal adhesive bonds when tested on standard shape specimens and under defined test conditions. The test method calls for testing ten specimens at a time. The test specimens can be made of brass, copper, aluminum, steel, phosphor bronze, magnesium, or nickel silver. The surfaces of each test specimen are ground flat and parallel. The specimen is a solid disk per Figure 2 of ASTM D897.
