ASTM D5704 Copper Catalyst

Copper catalyst specimen used in ASTM D5704 (Thermal and Oxidative Stability of Lubricating Oils Used for Manual Transmissions and Final Drive Axles). The catalyst is made of C11000 copper, and is 9/16" x 1-13/16" x 1/16". The test method requires two catalysts for each test; one of the catalysts is notched on one long edge to distinguish it from the other catalyst. Each catalyst is polished on all sides and edges with 180 grit SC and cleaned with solvent per ASTM D5704.
