ASTM D3165 Single-Lap-Joint Test Specimen

Metal and plastic single-lap-joint test specimens used in adhesive testing by ASTM D3165 (Strength Properties of Adhesives in Shear by Tension Loading of Single-Lap-Joint Laminated Assemblies). These test specimens have a larger joint (or adhesive area) compared to other lap shear test specimens. ASTM D3165 test specimens can be made of 260 brass, 110 copper, 2024-T3 clad aluminum, steel, 304 stainless steel, titanium, plastic, or other materials that correspond with the intended end-use application.
