ASTM D2112 Copper Catalyst Coil

Copper catalyst coil conforming to ASTM D2112.  These catalyst coils are used to evaluate the oxidation stability of inhibited mineral insulating oils by pressure vessel. This catalyst coil is also used in IP 229 and ASTM D2272.
 
Coils are made from electrolytic, No. 14 AWG wire (1.628mm diameter), 99.9% purity.  Wire is polished and wiped clean of dust prior to winding.
 
Coils are wound on a mandrel to 44-48 mm outside diameter by 40-42mm high, 3 meter approximate total length.
 
Coils are individually packaged in glass jars with desiccant to prevent oxidation during storage.
