ASTM D2070 Test Specimens

Metal test specimens used in ASTM D2070 (Thermal Stability of Hydraulic Oils). Two different metals are used: 99.9% copper and AISI W1 1% carbon steel. Each test specimen is 3" long and 1/4" in diameter. The test specimens are cleaned and polished per ASTM D2070. These test specimens are sometimes referred to as iron and copper catalyst rods.
