MIL-T-10727 Test Specimens

Metaspec manufactures test specimens used in quality assurance testing by MIL-T-10727. This Military Specification covers electrodeposited or hot-dipped tin plating for ferrous and nonferrous metals. The production or quality control requirements generally require that the tin-plated parts be tested for conformance to MIL-T-10727. However, some parts (due to shape or size) can't be tested. In those cases, the specification allows separate test specimens that are plated together with the other parts and then tested for conformance.

The following is a list of tests in Military Specification MIL-T-10727 that use test specimens. Click on the test method number for more information about specimens required for each test.

  • MIL-T-10727 §4.4.1 Separate Test Specimens (size 1" x 4" x 0.04" - see ASTM B545)

    • MIL-T-10727 §4.6.1 Thickness (ASTM B487, B504, B499, B567 or B568 as applicable)

    • MIL-T-10727 §4.6.2 Adhesion

    • MIL-T-10727 §4.6.3 Solderability

    • MIL-T-10727 §4.6.4 Salt Spray Test (see ASTM B117)

This specification has been superseded by ASTM B545.
