Metaspec manufactures test specimens used in fuel quality testing by Specification ASTM D8011, which covers natural gasoline to be used as a hydrocarbon blendstock in ethanol fuel blends. These fuel blends are intended for flexible-fuel automotive spark-ignition engines, and are commercially referred to as Ethanol Flex Fuel. ASTM D8011 also covers natural gasoline to be used as a denaturant in denatured fuel ethanol for blending with gasoline as an automotive spark-ignition engine fuel.
